Green Mobility - Live and travel sustainably

The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz considers the concept of the “ecological footprint” in all major decisions. Here are a few simple tips on how to make your trip more sustainable.

How can climate protection and international experience be combined? The aim of the KUG's Green Mobility Initiative is to help support your activities in such a way that the required ecological footprint is as small as possible. This should also be taken into account when it comes to mobility. Topics, such as sustainable travel or green mobility, are becoming increasingly important, and climate-friendly travel should thus be promoted.

General travel tips

  • Fly as infrequently as possible. If possible, travel by train or by bus. If you plan well in advance, bus and train travel can also be cheaper than plane trips. It's not only easy on the environment, but also on the purse. We refer in particular to attractive offers with the OEBB Nightjet.

  • If travelling by plane cannot be avoided, the damage can be slightly reduced by compensating for it: You can calculate your own CO2 emissions and donate the corresponding amount to eco-social projects. (e.g.: Compensio, atmosfair)

  • Do not print tickets. Simply save the digital tickets on your mobile phone.

  • Make sure to travel light.

  • Use public transport.

  • Consume regional and seasonal products.

  • Shorter distances can also be covered by foot or by bike.

  • Use reusable bottles and drink tap water (if the water quality allows it).

  • Try to reduce waste.

  • Pay attention to your use of resources (electricity, water).
