Erasmus Student Network

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the largest student association in Europe. It was founded on October 16, 1989 and legally registered in 1990 to support and promote student exchange.

Incomings of KUG can participate in the ESN Buddy Programme if they are interested. "Buddies" are students who are taking care of international exchange students in their free time. The support begins before arrival and lasts until the end of the semester. They offer support in case of problems and help to get used to the Austrian lifestyle more easily.

The ESN also organises various events and activities throughout the semester, primarily for incoming students. These are usually organised in close cooperation with the colleagues of the University of Graz and are often free of charge or sometimes a participation fee is charged, which is nevertheless quite reasonable. Holders of an ESNcard also receive other benefits.
